When looking for Italian charms always go for charms that are made of stainless steel. Charms made of stainless steel are very durable and resist ternishing and discoloration.
There is also quite a range of prices when it comes to Italian charms.
Some places sell them for $18 and others for as little as $0.95. What's the main difference?
Well, it used to be the case that cheap Italian charms were simply generic knock-offs sold by unknown companies. However, this is no longer the case!
Many reputable, high-quality brands are selling discounted charms to fill consumer demand for more affordable alternatives.
Such brands as D'linQ, Firenze, Fiozini, Udomani, Pasante, T K Italia are well-respected and offer Italian charms and Italian charm bracelets at greatly reduced prices without sacrificing quality. All these suppliers stamp their brand name on the back of the charm to indicate a brand-name product.
We do suggest you stay away from Italian charms with blank (no brand) backs because of wide variation in quality and design.

When purchasing an Italian charm bracelet, it is important to order enough charms for the length you need. Generally, 18 charms are needed for a 7 inch bracelet. 21 charms for an 8 inch bracelet.
Of course, you do not need to purchase all the charms at the same time. You can begin with something called a "starter bracelet" that comes with 18 blank links. Then, replace the blank links as you accumulate more charms.
If you are just starting out, you can also get a special charm tool that helps you open up and connect the individual links. You slide it into the opening in the charm and turn to open it up. Then, just hook it onto the next charm to connect them together.
